Is it normal 8 months post FTT to still have bad tingling sensations, stabbing pain and numbness in my scar area?

I was told before my surgery that nerve damage was a risk and that some may be permanent so I was fully aware. However, does the "permanent" include the stabbing pains and tingling as well? Is this something I will have to learn to live with? How do I know what's normal versus what may be a problem?

Thanks for your inquiry,  sometimes these nerve issues resolve only after a year or so.  Also ask your surgeon about scar management, good luck.

From your description I would encourage you to meet with your board certified plastic surgeon for an evaluation.  Certainly numbness and tingling can occur at this phase of recovery, but sharp stabbing pains should be explored.  Your surgeon may be able to provide more insight after an examination.
