Is it normal to have swelling 6 months after tummy tuck around the incision? Also with random tightness of the belly where my stomach feels super tight even to inhale

Answer: 6 months post op tummy tuck with swelling. Is this normal? (photos) Swelling after tummy tuck usually lasts 3 to 6 months, but most of the swelling is gone after a few weeks. Healthy people at their ideal weight should have the best overall recovery, but some of this will depend upon the surgical technique and adherence to postoperative protocols. What you are likely experiencing is one reason why I tighten the abdominal wall to return it to an anatomic norm rather than tighten it as much as possible. This produces a functional result without producing prolonged discomfort. The tightness will diminish over time.

Having said that, There are also other possible explanations for What appears to be "Swelling", such a retained fluid collection (seroma). This is diagnosed on physical exam, not by pictures, therefore you should contact your plastic surgeon if you think this might be a possibility.
