if so by how much can it be lifted by taping? the tip dropped a little after the cast came off and i want to get it back to where it was
Answer: Discuss with your surgeon Long term taping is not typically recommended after rhinoplasty. Nonetheless, tip support in the late postop period may provide slight improvement. First discuss with your surgeon.

Answer: Taping and tip lift It is normal to get some tip droop after removal of the cast. As swelling goes away and the skin starts to tighten on the tip, you should get some upward lift (called Rotation). Taping your nasal tip 1 month post op may not really help. But most of the tip rotation is achieved during surgery via specific surgical steps.

Answer: Elevating the nasal tip I do not believe that taping the tip a month after surgery is really very helpful in providing additional nasal tip elevation. Most of the nasal tip elevation or shortening of the nose is due to surgical meanuvers performed durning the rhinoplasty . I do believe that the taping of the tip in the immediate week after surgery is very important but not beyond that.

Answer: Taping the nose post rhinoplasty Dear b7rkj1, I am not a proponent of taping the nose after splint removal. The nose is shaped during the surgical procedure with specific methods in the surgery and is not inclined to change with tape in my opinion. Best regards, Michael V. Elam, M.D.
