I do not want a full rhinoplasty. I like my nose when I just pull up the skin on the bridge of my nose with my index finger to make it shorter. This is all I want done. Is there something for this? I tried botox and it didn't work very well. Thanks!
Answer: I just want the skin pull up on my nose. Is this possible? You can have a more refined nose that is natural in appearance. I perform these surgeries with closed technique to preserve the structure of the nose and minimize visible scarring.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA

Answer: Rhinoplasty to lift and shorten the nose The rhinoplasty procedure involves shaping cartilage and bone on the tip/ bridge of the nose. Rhinoplasty does not involve skin surgery to lift the nose, however the skin is simply elevated off the cartilage and bone to enable sculpting of the cartilage and bone underneath the skin. For many examples of rhinoplasty, please see the link below

Answer: I just want the skin pull up on my nose. Is this possible? Botox can work nicely for very subtle tip shaping. However, in most cases, shortening the length of the nose requires rhinoplasty surgery to reshape and reposition the nasal tip cartilages. I hope this information is helpful for you.Stephen Weber MD, FACSDenver Facial Plastic Surgeon

Answer: I just want the skin pull up on my nose. Is this possible? Following advice from a surgeon on this or any other website who proposes to tell you what to do without seeing photos and without examining you, physically feeling your tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history and discussing the pros and cons of each procedure would not be in your best interest. I would suggest that you find a surgeon certified by the American Board of American Plastic Surgery and one who is ideally a member of The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) or otolaryngologist that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person. Robert Singer, MD FACS La Jolla, California
