Top lip on right side looks filled above to line uneven and crooked kinda curled up and uneven is it normal or did I not take care of it good i did eat right after getting fillers and the next day my son kinda bumped me on that side of my lip.

Thank you for sharing your question and photographs.  I am sorry to hear of your difficulties after filler placement but rest assured these symptoms will all get better over the next 10 days.  It often takes up to 2 weeks for fillers to soften and the tissues to appear more natural.  In the meantime try reducing the swelling by using cold compresses to your lips and elevating your head at night with a couple of extra pillows behind your back.  You may want to also consider using Arnica Montana and bromelain as supplements.  Because I do think that the lump is sizable underneath your cupids bow I would apply a small amount of pressure between your thumb and index finger to the deposit to help it soften and dissipate.  Hang in there!

While I cannot provide a formal assessment without seeing you as a patient in my clinic, swelling from Juvederm injections can typically last for up to 14 days.  What you are seeing is likely a combination of filler and swelling. I suggest waiting 14 days to see the final result of your treatment.  If you are still dissatisfied, I recommend scheduling a consultation with a board-certified cosmetic dermatologist who is an expert in facial injection techniques.  They will customize a treatment plan to help you get the results you are looking for.  In my practice we have over 45 lasers that we use in combination with dermal fillers and other treatment modalities to customize treatments for the needs of each of our patients.

I appreciate your question and concerns. However, it is still early after your treatment, and swelling would be expected. In most cases, side effects subside within two weeks and at that time, your outcome will become evident. I suggest using ice packs on the area to help decrease the swelling in the meantime. If you are still concerned then, I encourage you to schedule a follow-up appointment with your injector. Most fillers soften and even out within two weeks. To address residual swelling, I recommend using ice or cold compresses on the area. It's too soon to tell what your final results will be. You have swelling, which can be asymmetrical, and last 1-2 weeks after lip injections. Juvederm has significant swelling post injection. I would follow up with you plastic surgeon but typically I tell all my patients to wait a full two weeks.  Generally at 2 weeks they are happy and glad they didn't dissolve.  Dissolving is unpredictable as well.

Hello - thank you for your questions and photos. Don't worry, it can take up to 2 weeks for lips to settle and heal completely. You may just have excessive swelling in the top lip and it may take some time to go down. Try icing on and off + take some tylenol.

It is normal to see some swelling especially for a few days following your injection.  Your son bumping you the next day is unlikely to have had any effect on your Juvederm. The swelling from the injection should go down after about two weeks at which point your lips will look better. You may want to ice your lips to help reduce the swelling or you can contact your physician immediately as some physicians will prescribe anti-inflammatories or steroids to help reduce swelling.  If you continue to have concerns after two weeks, I would recommend scheduling a follow up visit with your provider to go over your results.

Swelling and bruising are common after lip injections and can persist up to two weeks.  It is unlikely that your son bumping you would cause asymmetry.  If after two weeks you still have concerns, return to your injector for an evaluation.  The product can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if desired.
