I had Juvederm done to even out my top lip (there was a dip) and a little bit in my bottom just for symmetry. Right after I was told they’d be a little smaller than how they are now. I didn’t swell much at all but my top lip looks a little bit like a duck and last night my friend told me it looked like I was stung by a bee. Will it get better? Is it worth just waiting out? Can Zyrtec help with the swelling?
Answer: Lip Injections Swelling is common after lip injections, which could lead to an asymmetrical appearance. Swelling resolves typically within two weeks. If after that time you still have concerns, return to your injector for an evaluation.

Answer: Swelling Dear Funny570, Juvederm has significant swelling post injection. I would follow up with you plastic surgeon but typically I tell all my patients to wait a full two weeks. Generally at 2 weeks they are happy and glad they didn't dissolve. Dissolving is unpredictable as well. Answer: 4 days after Juvederm my top lip still larger than the bottom. Will it get better? Will Zyrtec help with swelling? Thank you for sharing your question and photographs. I am sorry to hear of your difficulties after filler placement but rest assured these symptoms will all get better over the next 10 days. It often takes up to 2 weeks for fillers to soften and the tissues to appear more natural. In the meantime try reducing the swelling by using cold compresses to your lips and elevating your head at night with a couple of extra pillows behind your back. You may want to also consider using Arnica Montana and bromelain as supplements. Hang in there, and if no improvement over the next several days, have your injector add some hyaluronidase to dissolve some of your upper lip fullness. Hope this helps.

Answer: Swelling 4 days after Juvederm It is normal to see some swelling especially for a few days following your injection, and it is not uncommon for that swelling to be worse in some areas. The swelling from the injection should go down after about two weeks at which point your lips will look better. You may want to ice your lips to help reduce the swelling or you can contact your physician immediately as some physicians will prescribe anti-inflammatories or steroids to help reduce swelling. After two weeks, if your lips are overfilled to your taste or you continue to have concerns, I would recommend scheduling a follow up visit with your provider to go over your results. Your provider can dissolve your filler, but that is a discussion best to have in person.
