I'm 28 years of age, black, female, 5.7 and i have accessory breast in my right axilla. My friend removed hers but after a few days, there's was a hard lump in the area where the tissue was removed, it almost feels like a bouncing ball. According to her doctor, it will take some time for the muscles there to relax and the result to be visible. My question is, does it happen like that for all people, what causes the hard lump and how can it be treated?

Answer: Axillary breast tissue removal Dear Mathilda07033, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Generally speaking, axillary breast tissue can be removed without the creation of hard mass. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Axillary breast tissue More commonly, I liposuction the area and get great results with a tiny armpit incision. The fat and breast tissue is suctioned and removed. There are some patients with redundant skin. If bothersome, it may be cut out later. Because of the skin contraction post liposuction, there is less skin to remove and a shorter scar. Rarely do I ever get requests for that skin to be excised. Best wishes Dr. Taranow
