I had a breast reduction 6 months ago and the scarring under my breasts look brown and patchy. It’s the area where all the sutures would have been held together. I started out using scar stickies and then moved to silicone scar gel. Does this look normal? Or is it too early to tell?

Answer: Weird brown scarring 6 months after breast reduction. Does this look normal? Hello @Creative879549 thank you for your question. A Consultation is the best way to find out what you need, there are several options to diminish the scar through non-surgical treatments to manage a scar process. However, the specialist needs to evaluate each case to give you the best course of action. I link a video talking about keloids in breast reduction. Best wishes!!! Alan Gonzalez MD FACS

Answer: Scars Dear Creative879549, I understand you are concerned with the appearance of your scars. As your scars heal, it should flatten out and lighten. Loss of pigmentation or hyperpigmentation may also be experienced but will resolve over time. Always follow your surgeon's post operative care instructions when it comes to scar management to avoid any complications like infection and for faster healing and recovery.
