No feeling on lower half of breasts and nipples 1 year after surgery - advice?

Hello, I am a little over a year post-op and I have no feeling on the lower half of my breasts. My surgeon did the "anchor technique" and I am more than satisfied with the results (I went from a 32G to a 32D/C, 61 inches, 120 lbs) I am just wondering if l'Il ever regain feeling on the lower half of my breasts and my nipples. With my nipples I have feeling from time to time but they get erect randomly and I cannot feel when. I am just wondering if the feeling will ever come back.

Thanks for your question! At this point, it is unlikely you will get that feeling back. That is one of the unfortunate risks with breast reduction surgery. It's great that you are happy with your results though! Best of luck.

I'm glad to hear you are happy with the results of your procedure.  Changes in sensation are common after breast reduction and often temporary, returning within a year.  For numbness lasting longer than a year it is less likely that you will regain sensation and the change may be permanent.

numbness is very common. It depends on the operation but often times sensation can return in a couple of weeks, a year, or not at all. Nipple sensation itself is very important and can sometimes be lost with breast surgery. This is often mentioned in the risks of the consent process. I imagine your numbness is just temporary although I would have to examine you.
