Do I have tuberous breasts and if so would a tuberous breasts correction surgery wiyh fat transfer work for me? Also if I get an areola reduction would there be permanent darker rings around them frim scars? Thank you!
Answer: Mini lift with fat transfers Your breasts are tuberous. Adding fat will only add volume. You will need repositioning and the technique I recommend is a mini lift. Using a circumareola incision, your breast tissue is reshaped, elevated higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. At the same time, fat transfers can be performed if additional volume is desired. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Tuberous breast deformity is not ttypically treated with fat grafting No, fat grafting is not likely to treat tuberous breast deformity alone. I do believe that you have some element of tuberous breast deformity, which involves a constricted lower portion of the breast, and inframammary fold that rides high on the chest, and herniation of the breast gland into the areola. This is typically treated with an incision around the areola, release of the constricted tissue at the lower portion of the breast which allows for placement of an implant, and excision of a small amount of excess areola. Closure of the incision allows for repair of the herniation of gland tissue into the areola. Fat grafting is possible to do it in conjunction with this if necessary but is not a requirement.

Answer: Breasts No, your breasts are not tuberous, but do sag. Sagging is not corrected with a fat transfer, but rather a lift.

Answer: Fat transfer I tell many women that fat transfer to the breasts really doesn't work as well as you think. Look at before and afters online. The results I have seen are quite poor. And those are surgeons best cases which is why they end up online. You need a lift and small implant

Answer: Tuberous breasts Dear cakes83, tuberous breasts are not simply small or underdeveloped breasts. The appearance of the breast can range from mild to severe, and typical traits include: enlarged, puffy areola, rather wide spacing between the breasts, very little breast tissue, sagging, higher than normal inferior breast fold, and narrow base at the chest wall. The type of surgery best for you will depend on the severity of your condition. My preferred technique for tuberous breast correction involves a multistep procedure where the breast tissue is released in a radial pattern to prevent herniation into the areola and placement of a custom implant size is in the breast to allow appropriate expansion of the breast in the restricted dimensions. This can often be done in a single procedure but sometimes may require two surgeries. That said, it is best that you visit a board-certified plastic surgeon for an in person examination. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.
