Hello, I’m a 55 year old woman. I’ve never smoked, I’m healthy and quite active. I also have these wrinkles (see photos) that are making me crazy. I’ve done Botox (or its equivalents) for 15 years, so I’ve developed a bit of a tolerance. Would fillers help soften the wrinkles in my cheeks and around my eyes? I’ve been told to try laser treatments. Or is it time for some kind of facelift? Thank you for your advice.

Answer: Eye and cheek wrinkles Thank you for your query. Fillers and laser treatments can certainly help but will not give you the kind of improvement that you may be looking for. A lower blepharoplasty and face lift with some autologous fat grafting is probably the best option for you. Laser resurfacing can be done at the same time or later for further improvement .Please find an experienced board certified Plastic surgeon who can examine you and help you with all your concerns. All the best!

Answer: Laser resurfacing is best for facial wrinkles Botox does help reduce crow's feet, but after you've been doing this a while and getting older, it is time for the next step. Laser resurfacing using a CO2 laser (I use an Ultrapulse) works best. Of course, a facelift is a good option in a 55-year-old woman as well and many patients do the procedures together. Fillers would not be particularly helpful for these wrinkles.
