I am worried they are burn marks rather then welts? How long should I wait for these to disappear and are the marks normal?

Unfortunately, what I see in the picture is the result of the unprofessional application. The transducer was not kept tight to the skin on the last lines of the 2 regions. Negative result should go away eventually though.

Hello, 
Welts after Ultherapy are typically because there was too much heat close to the surface of the skin. They can be minimised or avoided by the doctor/nurse carefully monitoring the depth of the ultrasound delivery.
They tend to settle quick quickly, but ice and even some mild steroid cream might speed them up. I've never seen a true burn from Ultherapy in all of the treatments I have performed, but it is possible.

I can understand your concern. Typically this occurs when using a depth that is superficial. Applying a cold ice pack immediately after the area is treated is recommended to help reduce swelling. If swelling does occur it typically lasts a few hours toa few days. A burn can happen if the hand piece is not moved and ultrasound is delivered to the same spot multiple times. I would follow up with the physician to address your concerns.
