Answer: Septorhinoplasty A plastic surgeon can evaluate you and determine what the cause of your obstruction is. It may be septal deviation vs turbinate hypertrophy vs internal or external valve collapse. Once this is determined, this correction can be planned along with any aesthetic corrections you desire.

Answer: Rhinoplasty and functional nasal surgery the When patient's have chronic sinus disease, it is usually the result of allergic nasal polyps that create chronic sinus infections. Once patients have failed medical management for the sinus infections with antibiotics and nasal sprays, then endoscopic sinus surgery can be accomplished to remove the polyps blocking the sinus drainage. A CAT scan of the paranasal sinuses is required to document any chronic sinusitis issues before performing any surgery. Chronic nasal obstruction and decreased breathing breathing can be due to a variety of issues such as a deviated septum, valve collapse, vestibular stenosis, turbinate hypertrophy and chronic sinusitis. Each one of these issues are treated differently with either medications or surgery. This is known as functional nasal surgery to improve air flow through the nose. A rhinoplasty can be performed in combination with either functional nasal surgery, or endoscopic sinus surgery. Performing cosmetic and functional nasal surgery would allow the patient to undergo one anesthetic with one recovery period.
