I got juverderm ultra in my lips 4 weeks ago. The healing swelling went down in about 4 days and it flared up again 2 weeks later. I got a script for prednisone and it went down in 2 days. 2 weeks later again I got another flare up which has been quite painful and tingly feeling. Both times the swelling has happened, it has been one side of the bottom lip the first day, then the top lip one side the next day and the bottom goes down. What could this be? No itchiness or heat

While I cannot provide a formal assessment without seeing you as a patient in my clinic, it appears that you are having a reaction to the product.  I suggest stopping the prednisone and having your filler dissolved. I also recommend scheduling this appointment with a board-certified cosmetic dermatologist who is an expert in facial rejuvenation. Once the filler is dissolved and your reaction subsides, this doctor can help you choose the appropriate filler and treatment plan moving forward.

I'm sorry to hear of the issues you are having.  From your description it sounds as if you are having a reaction to the filler.  At this point you may consider having the product dissolved with hyaluronidase.  See an expert injector to discuss this further.

It appears that you have allergy to the filler. No need for taking prednisone but it needs to be disolved.
