Why did my filler migrate above my lip post injection and can I correct it?

I received one syringe of Juvaderm Ultra Plus to augment my upper and lower lip. I'm four weeks post injection and it appears that the filler has moved above my lip. Why did this happen? Can I correct it?

Without knowing more about your treatment it's difficult to say why the product may have migrated.  I encourage you to return to your injector for an evaluation.  At this time you can have the area injected with hyaluronidase to dissolve it.

WIthout seeing you as a patient in my clinic, or without consistent photographs, it is difficult to provide a formal assessment. It is possible that filler can migrate from the injection site. I recommend scheduling a consultation with a board-certified cosmetic dermatologist who can provide a formal assessment for you.  If you are unhappy with your results, it is possible to have the filler dissolved.  In my practice we have over 45 lasers that we use in combination with dermal fillers and Botox to customize treatment plans for each of our patients.

Filler migration is possible. It occurs within the first few days if it does occur so it's easy to detect. They should be gone in a matter of days post-injection.  ​In general, if it continues to feel uncomfortable, consult your doctor to get a complete assessment or have it dissolved.
