I'm 3 weeks post op and healing wonderfully, no complications and issue free. LOVE my results. My only real "issue" is the swelling. I know the swelling is to be expected. My question, how long will Swell Hell last? I currently am unable to fit into any of my jeans/pants. I look pregnant! Is there a peak time when the swelling is at it's worst? Not in time of day, but in the healing process. Like week 3-6 post op is at it's worst. Thank you!

Answer: How long does surgical swelling last, Thanks for your question. Swelling is a natural part of the healing process after surgery. For most procedures, I instruct my patients that 90-95% of surgical swelling will resolve by 6 weeks or so. The last 5--10% can take 3 months or even longer. In body contouring procedures this may barely be noticeable. In nose reshaping surgery, the last bit of swelling can still appear to be significant.

Answer: Swelling after mommy makeover I advise my patients to give it a good 6 months (and sometimes even a year) to allow all of the swelling to resolve after a tummy tuck. Having said that, you will notice changes every week early on and then the changes will be more subtle after 3-4 months. Continue wearing your compression garment and just give your body time to heal. Best of luck for great results!!
