I got lipo to my lower abs and flanks a little over a year ago at age 39. While I’m pretty happy with the way the front of my body looks, the back looks horrible. My hips come out of nowhere and my but looks like a square now because of it. In full transparency, I have gained about 15 lbs since the procedure, but it looked like this prior to me gaining weight, just on a smaller scale. What happened?? What do I do?!
Answer: Lower back/hip lipo Since a full year has passed, this is close to be the final result. It you are not happy with the contour of the hip/flanks area, consult with your plastic surgeon, a contouring procedure can be done to smoothen the curves and make them seem less angular. Hope that was helpful

Answer: Liposuction results Dear txjaclynrenee, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Liposuction revision Thank you for your question and posting appropriate pictures. Sounds like you’re a good candidate for revision liposuction to address your back and shape your buttocks. Occasionally, this could be performed under local anesthesia. It is best for you to have a virtual consultation first to discuss options.

Answer: Liposuction results I think your previous provider didn’t do a good job transitioning your waist and love handles when they did Liposuction. Your S-curve is now distorted and you now have an unnatural appearance that was not improved from the procedure. The transition point where the liposuction begins needs to be lower towards the hip dip area. This is easily corrected with a revision procedure if done by someone who knows what they’re doing. At least that’s what it looks like from somewhat limited pictures. We should judge results by looking at a standard proper before and after pictures. If you don’t have the pictures your provider took then you should ask them to forward them to you. It doesn’t really matter what our opinions are. If you don’t like the results you need to get a revision and your provider didn’t do the best job in the first place so you may want to consider someone who does better quality work. Delivering consistent quality liposuction results is more difficult than most people believe. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of choosing the most talented and experienced procedures. Get that area shaped correctly the Liposuction should be done with the patient laying on their side. Doing that is much easier when doing Liposuction with patients awake and not under general anesthesia. I suggest having multiple in person consultations at which time you ask each provider to show their entire collection of before and after pictures specifically showing pictures of previous patients and how they would improve upon your results. An experienced provider should have no difficulty showing you a minimum of at least 50 quality before and after pictures. Highly experienced providers will have hundreds or even thousands of Liposuction before and after pictures of the torso. I think the doctor doesn’t quite understand the basics of body contouring and what looks good and what doesn’t. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
