Difficulty swallowing after Xeomin in the jaw/neck

Question

I recently had injections in my lower jaw line and down my neck to 'give a gentle lift' to my jaw line. I hate the feeling immensely. I cannot open my mouth all the way and at the end of the day I feel a lump in my throat. I can swallow but it feels more difficult. I've tried stretching my jaw open several times a day which helps a little but I also end up with a mild headache at the end of the day. Any suggestions on how to remedy this?

If you’re experiencing difficulty swallowing, soreness or pain in your jaw you should follow up with your provider. Hope this helps.

If you’re experiencing difficulty swallowing or are experiencing soreness or pain on your jaw you should go back to your provider and have him/her check the area. Make sure you are always seeing a board certified physician, PA or NP when getting injectables done.

Hi and thank you for your question.  It sounds as though your injector has administered the Xeomin product too deep when aiming to treat the platysmal bands. You should return to the clinic who performed your treatment for a review of the treatment.

Injection of the neck bands sometimes does lead to difficuly swallowing but you dont say when you had the injections which will gradually wear off over a period od 3-4 months
