Why would Botox cause a Urinary infection?

Botox, let alone any neuromodulator, should have no effect or cause a urinary tract infection. The solution is saline and the toxin is absorbed by the tissue. Proteins bound to the toxin should be filtered by the kidney, though should have no plausible effect on the bladder.

Having facial Botox treatment for cosmetic reasons and having urinary track infection can happen but one is not the cause of the other - this is likely just a coincidence. With respect to UTI - it is good to have it assessed and treated.I hope that helps and best regards, Dr. Sapijaszko.

Botox is not known to cause urinary tract infections. I recommend scheduling an appointment with your primary care physician to address proper treastment.

Many people associate Botox with health problems they experience around the time they were injected.  The doses used in facial injection have very few side effects and they are almost all limited to the face. Other "side effects" you experience after injection are more likely coincidental and if serious, should be followed up by your primary care physician.
