I got my first Botox injections yesterday & the doctor told it was OK to receive the needle point micropen treatment all over my face just a couple of hours later. I just want to know what makes it possible to combine these two processes in one sitting. Is it because the botox is just injected to relax your muscles & not a filler that can be moved? I haven't seen any results from my Botox after 1 day. I'm assuming I'll know if it worked in about a week? Thank you!

Answer: Botox Thank you for your question. You can have micropen and botox performed in the same day, although the micropen treatment should be done first. You do not want to lay down after receiving botox due to the risk of it migrating to another area. To be sure, see two or more board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have treatment. I hope this helps.

Answer: Botox and Microneedling I often combine these procedures on the same day, although theoretically many think you should not as there is risk of spreading the botox to areas you did not want it to go. I have not found this to occur whether the botox is injected first or later. Botox takes 2 weeks to work completely. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Botox and micropen We perform this on a daily basis in my practice however we perform micropen treatments and then Botox. The reasoning is that we don't like to lay patients flat after Botox because we don't want the product to migrate and cause deleterious effects.
