An AuraLyft is a branded name of a modified deep plane facelift by Dr. Ben Talei in Beverly Hills. You should discuss with him what the nuances are that make an AuraLyft an AuraLyft. I think he does beautiful work, as do many others, but it would be best to reach out to him for more details.
In each deep plane facelift there are some very subtle variations in what can be done. Most of these make very little difference, and overall a good surgeon will continually adjust what they do in order to create the best outcome for an individual. An auralyft is simply a created name for one doctor's deep plane facelift. He will also do variations on that for individuals. There is nothing uniquely available to one surgeon over another, so the key is to look for experience and a person with whom you are comfortable. Our deep plane facelifts are modified for each person's individual needs and anatomy as there is no one size fits all. Nike sneakers look good for many people, but not for all.
There are many versions of deep plane facelift. Some surgeons like to trademark their procedures. During a consultation it is most important to truly understand exactly what is being done during the deep plane facelift procedure so that you are aware of the actual type of facelift you are considering.
The short answer is there is not much difference. The deep plane facelift has been around for decades, but sometimes, surgeons like to put their own trademarked name on the procedure. It usually just confuses people. The deep plane facelift is an excellent procedure if performed well - that should be your main focus as a patient - look for a lot of experience and great photos at the consultation.
An auralift is a name a surgeon has used for his version of a deep facelift. Is it better? I don’t know. I have not been terribly impressed with deep plan over traditional lifts, so I would find a good surgeon who does a good standard facelift lift without the bells and whistles .
I appreciate your concerns and confusion regarding facelift surgery. The traditional facelift used by most board-certified plastic surgeons, which is still considered the gold standard, involves tightening the facia and muscles below the skin of the face as well as tightening and trimming redundant skin. Deep plane face lift involves dissection beneath the facial muscles and lifting them, however postoperative swelling is much more significant utilizing this technique and studies demonstrate no advantage from the traditional facelift technique that I just described. Auralyft is simply a marketing tool, slapping a fancy name on to a traditional facelift, trying to make it stand out as different or special. Consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon in your area to explore the best options for you. Good luck.
No real difference. Many different names are used for a facelift which only confuses the patient. The best thing to do is to find a reputable facelift surgeon and ask to see their before and after photos instead of asking about the techniques. Also ask to speak to a few patients who already had the procedure. So, in essence it is not the name of the technique but the surgeon doing the facelift that you want to focus on.RegardsDr. Janjua
There are a variety of procedures that are called “facelifts.” A well performed facelift which elevates and supports the deeper tissue of the face called the SMAS as well as removing the excess loose skin and adding appropriate amounts of volume to deficient areas of hollows and depressions not only turns back the clock, but also slow the aging process. However, the clock keeps ticking. Good results can be achieved with either technique, a SMAS or Deep plane, in the appropriate patient. What is more important than the specific technique is the experience and artistry of the plastic surgeon. Some surgeons claim that “Deep Plane Facelifts” last longer, but there is no valid scientific evidence to support those claims. An Auralyft is a branded name of a deep plane facelift and is only a marketing term. There are no valid studies that shows it is better or lasts longer than any other type of lift.I would suggest your plastic surgeon be certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and ideally a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) that you trust and are comfortable with who has all of the modalities of treatment available. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person. Facial rejuvenation needs to be individualized. What would be an ideal approach for one patient is not necessarily the same for someone else. Based on the examination and discussion at the consultation, you should have a better understanding of the various options that can achieve the best cosmetic result for you.Robert Singer, MD FACS La Jolla, California
