Can I still breast feed after a nipple reduction?

I had implants placed under the muscle as well as have my nipples reduced in length at the same time. I didn’t plan on having any more children but 1 is on the way and I wonder if I can still breastfeed after the nipple reduction. Surgery was about 2yrs ago.

A woman's areolae can be disproportionately small or large, and the size variation is considered normal. If you are concerned, areola reduction surgery can be performed. This should also resolve the puffiness.

Thanks for this question on nipple size. It is normal for there to be nipple asymmetry with regards to size and projection. I perform nipple reductions routinely and the results are very nice. Best, Dr. ALDO

Your best option to reduce the size of your nipples is surgery. It may be performed under local anesthesia and is very effective.  A healthy diet and exercise are good for you, but it is unlikely to reduce the size of your nipples.

It is possible to reduce the size of your nipple with surgery. I don’t think there are any nonsurgical methods available.
