Hello! I am 5”1, 125 lbs and am currently wearing a very small 34B that I can hardly fill out. I’m scheduled for my operation and I’ve all but decided to go for a 250cc medium profile. I want something very natural and subtle. My goal is to be a full B in the end. My only worry is the implant diameter. The diameter is 11.3cm and my natural BW is 12cm/12.5cm. That’s a .07cm difference i and a 1.3cm difference on the other. Is that too narrow for my body or should it look natural?
Answer: Implant size Dear Vivid995694, breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small. You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals. Answer: Diameter This should not be a problem. The WORKING breast diameter is the actual pocket that will be dissected that DOES NOT directly correlate with the external breast diameter measurements.

Answer: How much narrower should implant be in relation to natural breast width? Thank you for sharing your question and photographs. BWD is one breast parameter that surgeons use to help select implants that will fit your anatomy but there is variation in the ways it is measured. That said as long as you are pithing 1-2cm of your BWD you should be fine, the more important consideration is that the 250cc sizers you tried on supply you with the goal outcome you desire. Best wishes!

Answer: How much narrower should a breast implant be in relation to natural breast width? Thank you for your question. Done your goals I think your choice of the 250 cc implant is likely to give you the result that you want. Personally I would not worry about the implant diameter as long as it is equal to or smaller than your base with. The base with measurement typically is a measurement that we do not want to exceed but I would not worry about it implant that is slightly smaller.

Answer: Your implant will look great! Your implant will look great with a base diameter slightly smaller than your natural width. The time you worry is when the implant is wider than the natural diameter of the breast. 250cc will look great on your frame. Be sure to see a board-certified plastic surgeon. Good luck!
