1 month post op~ smart lipo thighs & im very concerned about this rippled, lumpy effect on left lower thigh! Originally was seroma which was drained 2wks ago...3 days later it became hard, lumpy & rippled
Answer: Seroma of the thigh with Smart Lipo Yes it is possible to get seromas with Smart Lipo. I am not sure if the incidence is higher with this technology than with traditional liposuction but I believe it is. Normally most anterior thighs are avoided because this area tends to have greater healing problems. With the newer technology more doctors that have limited experience with traditional liposuction are attempting to improve this area. Seromas probably occur more frequently because the heat of the laser injures lymph vessels where the damage to these vessels by traditional liposuction is limited. Your seroma can be aspirated a number of times and if it forms a cyst (sac filled with fluid) this can eventually be removed if draining it doesn't work. Also injecting the cyst with a steroid compound my shrink it.. If you are only one month out it is quite early and things will change over the next 3 months. You may want to wear some compression garment for an extended period and limit you walking and exercise as this will increase the lymphatic production. William Aiello,M.D. Orange County CA

Answer: Hard lumpy after lipo Thank you for your question. It is too early to comment on revision. They usually continue to get better with time and massage. If your surgeon approves, venus legacy can help to smooth the area.

Answer: Healing of Seroma after Liposuction Most surgeons who have done the hundreds of liposuction cases as I have done will STRONGLY advise you to await swelling resolution, continue massaging, and follow your surgeons STRICT INSTRUCTIONS ON COMPRESSION, especially regarding the thighs. It is HIGHLY ADVISED to sufficiently compress the thighs around the clock as much as possible, especially within the FIRST 2 WEEKS.... COMPLIANCE IS KEY!!!! If you did not heed to these instructions as your surgeon advised, you will simply need to be patient and allow TIME TO HEAL.GOOD LUCK!

Answer: Lumpy legs It is hard to say what your ultimate appearance wiill be until you have waited for all the swelling to resolve and the tissues heal well. I assume the seroma has been drained adequately. Seromas can cause some deformities and scarring, that is why they need to be drained adequately. Good luck
