Does Smart Lipo not work for everyone?

As with

and the vast majority of patients have been extremely satisfied with their
results. But each patient has unique needs, and in some cases Smartlipo -- or
any form of liposuction -- may not be the procedure needed to get the desired
results. Less than desirable results can occur from too little fat being
removed, too much fat being removed, the right amount of fat with poor healing,
and sometimes unrealistic expectations of the procedure, which brings us back

That said, the expertise of the surgeon will dictate the success of the procedure, for the most part. There are different types of liposuction techniques and its not the device that gives the results, its the type of procedure and persons expertise and skill.  I suggest a 4D hi definition trained physician to get the most contouring type results.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Smart Lipo is a tool. Like any tool, SmartLipo works well when used in the right way for the right patients. It's not for everyone, it's not always used properly and it doesn't always give great results. Experienced liposuction surgeons use a variety of tools during body contouring procedures and a smart lipo procedure frequently requires additional tools to achieve excellent results. If these additional tools are lacking, the results will not reach the same level.

improve the tightness of the skin, however, the key is really in the technique
that is used in my opinion.In certain
times, a better result may be able to be achieved with traditional liposuction

The reason some people may not get the results desired is probably because the smart lipo isn't being done correctly.  First of all you need to make sure you are getting the newest technology, the Smartlipo triplex.  Second, after the laser melts the fat it still needs to be removed with regular liposuction cannulas.  A board certified plastic surgeon with liposuction experience should be able to provide the results desired.

SmartLipo, like any other type pf laser-assisted liposuction works well if it's used in the appropriate manner. Trying to apply the technique to larger patients or patients with significant excess amounts of skin will achieve poor results. And as always, you want to work with a plastic surgeon who is both board certified and has experience with this technique.

There are a number of factors that contribute to a good result.1) you should select a board certified plastic surgeon with the multiplex Smartlipo system that has experience in this area.2) you need to be a good candidate which generally means within 15-20% of your ideal body weight.3) you need to continue to manage your weight. Smartlipo is a great tool but it is not magic. you will definitely minimize or undone any benefits, if you put on weight after surgery. If  you continue to lose a bit of weight you will maximize your improvement. 4) you have to realistic in your expectations. No one will ever get you as buff and perfect as you want. Results do vary from area to area and patient to patient. however, almost all patients should see some improvement but you also need to allow 6 months for the maximum benefit.good luckdavid berman md

Smartlipo, just like any other technology, works if it is performed correctly, for the right reasons, and with the appropriate expectations. It should be performed with liposuction to reduce the fat, and it's goal should be for mild tightening of the skin. Expectations should be realistic.
