Had a dorsal hump removed May 2016 (so a year ago) and the last half of these past twelve months I have a very noticeable dent on the middle where the bridge of my nose is. Makeup won't hide it....it literally is a dent. Do I have an open roof deformity? Am I going to need revision?
Answer: Consultation Needed Hello,I am sorry about the dent in your nose. The best way to truly evaluate what it is and how to fix it is to make a consultation with your board certified facial plastic surgeon. They will be able to answer all of your concerns and questions. Answer: Post op rhinoplasty Thank you for your question- I appears that you have some abnormality of your nasal dorsum. I'd really need to take a good look at it to evaluate what exactly is going on. Have you returned to the surgeon and ask about it? While it's difficult to say exactly what's going on, it should be able to be fixed. If you didn't want another surgery right away there's also a chance that some filler could help the look of the dorsum as I commonly do this. It would be best to have a formal evaluation so you can understand more fully what the deal is and then to discuss all the options from there Hope this helps and God Bless! Dr. Robb

Answer: You will need evaluation Visible dent can be many things. Only in person exam will reveal its true cause. Whatever the cause another procedure will be needed to correct or diminish it.

Answer: Post Rhinoplasty Dorsal Deformity Thanks for your post. You would need a complete examination and review of your surgical history and recovery to understand exactly what is going on. You may have an open roof deformity on your dorsum, but it is difficult to tell without an in-person examination. Did you injury your nose after surgery? This may be a result of post surgical injury resulting in a graft dislocation or poor bone healing. This could also be related to skin issues from surgical injury or post operative steroid shots. Consult with your primary surgeon for recommendations or seek other opinions. You may need to consider revision. Best wishes.

Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello and thank you for your excellent question. Based on the photo, you appear to have either a superficial soft tissue, or deep cartillage or bone defect. We would need to take a look at your before and afters, and operative note to really get an idea of what the issue is. Of course, you will need an in-person consultation to evaluate you for this procedure. Preoperative visualization and surgical simulation with the Crisalix system may help with your decision. Any treatment plan should be based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both you and your surgeon. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation in person with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon. Good luck!
