I had my stitches, inner splints, and bandage removed on Monday (7 days post op) l. A soon as the bandage came off, my nose immediately started swelling. My doctor told me I need to firmly press on the nose spending my fingers from the top of the bridge outward as if I'm pushing the swelling away from my nose. She showed me how and it HURT. I trust my surgeon so I have been doing it. Do you think it's ok to be doing this? I don't want the results to be impacted or changed.

I would have a dermatologist take a close look at the area. There must be a good reason why it won't heal and you want to address medical causes before worrying about the cosmesis.
I hope that helps!

Hello,I understand that you are concerned. Please trust your doctor and make sure to follow open wound protocol. Be careful with your nose, and if it doesn't seem to heal in a couple days ask your doctor for a post op consultation.Best of luck,Deepak Dugar, MDScarless Rhinoplasty Ex...
Thank you for your question. It is possible that your nose changes in the time immediately after the 12 months after surgery. I suggest that you consult with your board certified facial plastic surgeon to learn more about your healing and recovery process.
Best wishes,
