Hello, I have a large tattoo covering majority of my back. I am getting liposuction on my lower back and bra rolls for a BBL. Will that ruin my tattoo or leave healing holes from the lipo? Can the PS stick the suction somewhere on my back to not ruin it or if there is a certain place the suction has to be in order to remove the fat?

Answer: Will getting lipo on my back for a BBL ruin my tattoo? Most of my patients have tattoos now, since Lipo and BBL will only aspirate fat deposits from under your skin, you tattoes may remain the same. There will be no incision neither removal of the skin to compromise them.

Answer: Liposuction untattooed patients My practice is exclusively devoted to only liposuction and fat transfer procedures. Many of my patients have tattoos. It's usually easy to avoid damaging the tattoo or interfering with the look of it when performing liposuction. While there are certain incision is made that need to be made strategically to get the best results for the liposuction there's usually enough wiggle room that the incision or opening for the bow section can be placed in an area that does not interfere with the look of the tattoo. Liposuction by itself has no impact on tattoos. You may want to discuss the placement of the openings with your plastic surgeon on the day of surgery if you have questions or concerns. Usually this is a non-issue that could easily be worked out. Best, Mats Hagstrom M.D.
