When will BBL swelling go down?

Question

How much swelling will come down from my Brazilian butt lift? Also how much time will it take? I am shocked at how big my butt is and I am just hoping it will go down some. It's only day 2 post op.

Dear Patient: the most dramatic reduction in swelling happens during the first month.  The final result we usually see at six months post op.  The fat that stays at the 6month mark usually stays forever, giving you a more lifted fuller buttocks.  Hope this helps:)

Thank you for your question. At 2 days postop the swelling is going to be significant. I would not expect things to really settle until at least three months. Keep in close contact with your plastic surgeon and follow his or her advice.Best of luck!

When only a few days out from BBL, you will look quite a bit larger than your permanent result. First there is swelling, since after significant surgery your tissues have inflammation and extra fluid present. Second, there is the fat itself and the question of long term fat retention. We don't know exactly how much fat remains long term (and this varies from person to person), but we do know it is not 100%. You will undoubtedly have some absorption of fat as well, meaning some of that fat will go away. Give it 2-3 months for things to get closer to your new size.
As always, clear communication with your surgeon about size and shape goals is important.

Too early to judge on the final result. You are still at the healing stage. The area in your lower back will be still bruised and swollen and this will take 8-12 weeks to settle. Wear your garment and keep your follow up with your surgeon.You have to give your body at least 12 weeks to start seeing results and final results can take 3-6 months depending the way your body heals

Two days after a BBL your bottom should look massive.
I'm surprised your doctor did not review this with you. Paragraph at this point you still have numbing solution, fat that is yet to be reabsorbed and swelling.It takes several months before your results resemble anything close to final.
You should have a follow up appointment with your plastic surgeon sometime next week at that point you should talk to your doctor about expectations of results and the timeframe of healing.

Thank you for your question.You are still so early in your recovery period, generally, most of the swelling will start to resolve by 6-8 weeks and you should start to see your final results by then. During the recovery period leading up to that your buttocks will continue to change slightly as the swelling resolves but by 8 weeks you should be able to get an idea of what your final outcome will look like.
