Swelling is very common after lip injections.  The majority of swelling will last 2 to 4 days and slowly subside over a week time frame. Typically people feel soreness and discomfort for the first couple hours or day after the injections. With this being said, I would still advise you to talk with your injector to calm your mind.I hope this helps

Hi Krismi. It doesn't look like any sort of reaction, but it is always best to check in with your injector when symptoms arise. Icing with frozen peas on/off today will really help. You can also watch the video link below on ways to reduce swelling with injections. 

Thank you for sharing your concerns. Swelling of the lips post injection of fillers is common.  It should resolve within a few days. Use cold compresses to hasten your recovery. Inform your doctor if it does not improve. Good luck, 

Thank you for your question. It is common after lip augmentation to have swelling. It can take up 2 weeks for all swelling to resolve. You can ice your lips to help resolve the swelling faster. Having some discomfort after injection is normal. However, I still recommend having this evaluated by your injector. Best of Luck!

Thanks for the question and photos – they help and sorry that you are as swollen as you are post your injections.  We always recommend that you have these injections done in the offices of board certified dermatologists or plastic surgeons – we are the true experts in fillers and lip augmentation. One of the things we always tell our patients is that if there are ever any questions or concerns, that you should call us at any time – so I would definitely speak with your injector.  And from the swelling and if only 0.5 cc was injected, then you most likely received Restylane Silk – a great filler for this area and one which does swell an awful lot in some people.  Time and ice are what is needed here and I am sure you will do just fine.  If after a week or so you are not happy, a small amount of hyaluronidase injected into the area can dissolve what has been injected.

This swelling appears normal right after a Restylane Silk injection, and could be normal after other injectables as well.  Ice and time will help. I hope you love your results in a few days, when that swelling settles down.

lip swelling after Restylane injection is rare but sometimes quite severe. I would not have the other half of the syringe injected in the future but rather choose a different  filler like Belotero. Although there are people that respond with extrem swelling with all hyloranic acid  .you can consider fat transfer. 

Your swelling could remain for a week or more. Don't worry eventually it will be normal again.
