What is a combituck?

My guess is that this is just a term coined by that surgeon to describe a tummy tuck with liposuction. It's not something that I've heard used.My best,

"A combi-tuck" is not a medical term, but very likely suggest a type of tummy tuck procedure (medical term: abdominoplasty) that combines a tummy tuck with something else for marketing purposes. There is a medical term for a tummy tuck procedure that does combines the essence of both a tummy tuck and liposuction called lipoabdominoplasty (medical term)that is commonly know as a "Brazilian tummy tuck".  This procedure significantly reshapes the torso by making the tummy flat, thiner and giving the curves to the waist (see link bellow)

Hi Kcenc,Thank you for the question.You will do very well with an abdominoplasty, plication of the rectus muscles and ultrasonic liposuction of the posterior lateral waist (the muffin top).  That is likely what the surgeon was referring to.I suggest that you find a PS in your area that you are comfortable with.  Have a complete consultation and examination.  Listen carefully to what you can expect with the procedure.  Take a friend as a second set of ears.  Take your time to review the office website.  While there look at the IPADs to assess the outcomes.  There should be a massive number of before / after abdominooplasty surgery patients.  If not, move on.  Look at his / her patient testimonials.Meet with his / her office staff as they will be involved in your pre-operative care and post operative care. If this gives you the confidence to consider proceeding with your surgery at that office then consider what he / she recommends.  If your surgeon feels that your outcome will be significantly improved with some liposuction, it may be recommended.  When done in combination with the abdominal surgery, it is often much more cost effective to have it done at that time.You have time to seek out a surgeon that has the experience and results that you are seeking.  All the best,Scott Barr, MD, FRCSC, Plastic Surgeon.barrplasticsurgery.com 

I have never heard that term used. It is probably referring to a tummy tuck combined with flank liposuction. These procedures are commonly done simultaneously to achieve the best contour and shape to your abdomen and flanks.

Thank you for your question. Probably TT and lipo. Based on the pictures  TT will help to get good results. Adding lipo may improve contour. Pl talk to your PS

I agree with the surgeons that responded by saying "Combituck" likely means a tummy tuck COMBINED with liposuction which is pretty standard.  Marketing can get out of hand sometimes.  Just make sure whatever the name of the procedure is, that you like the surgeon and are confident in their ability to achieve your goals!  Hope this helps.-JGH

What is a "combituck"?  A gimmicky name for a traditional procedure that sounds impressive and/or novel...so you feel justified paying more for it.You appear to be a good candidate for a traditional tummy tuck - which almost always includes some liposuction of the flank areas.Look for a board-certified plastic surgeon who can help walk you through the process and get you the results you want. 

You may have to ask your PS the exact definition of "combituck", but I'm guessing they mean a "combination of tummy tuck and liposuction".  Many docs invent marketing terms to try to distinguish themselves from the crowd, but when you break it down, there are probably very few PS's that really have an exclusive procedure that no one else is doing.
