So im 2 weeks post op and I have 'pleating' and a buldge at the centre of my incision it sticks out about an inch over my pubic area my sides are fine.. is this swelling or could i eventually need a revision? I know its still early days just slightly worried. I had Tummy Tuck with muscle repair no lipo. Thanks.

Answer: Tummy Tuck Pleating will it smooth out over time? An interesting aspect of Abdominoplasty is that the upper incision length is usually greater than th slower incision length. This fact must be dealt with during the surgery. Most times minor pleating will flatten out. Best to wait 6 months and re-evaluate.

Answer: Tummy Tuck Pleating, will it smooth out over time? Thank you for sharing. The pleating on your scar should even it self out with time. It is very normal to be swollen at 2 weeks post op. You are actually not that swollen compared to patients that have had lipo with their Tummy Tucks. This swelling accumulates above the incision and that is way you get a bulge in the area above your pubic area. Using your compression garment regularly will help eliminate the swelling as soon as possible. I like having lymphatic massages done on my patients to help with the swelling as well.Best of luck on your recovery!Dr. Miguel Mota
