Its not unusual to have some swelling after a mole is biopsied or excised. As long as the area isn't red, painful, or discharging pus, or you have a fever, then infection is unlikely. If still present after 1 month, best to show your dermatologist.
Yes, some swelling is normal after a procedure and may last a number of weeks. I took off a mole on my wife's face and she keeps showing me the swelling every day!!!If you think there is an infection, see your doctor. If not, you can compress the area with warm compresses. The swelling should go down with time.
