Its not unusual to have some swelling after a mole is biopsied or excised. As long as the area isn't red, painful, or discharging pus, or you have a fever, then infection is unlikely. If still present after 1 month, best to show your dermatologist.
Yes, some swelling is normal after a procedure and may last a number of weeks. I took off a mole on my wife's face and she keeps showing me the swelling every day!!!If you think there is an infection, see your doctor. If not, you can compress the area with warm compresses. The swelling should go down with time.
Thanks for your questions and photos. I agree that certain areas of the body may heal differently than others. Given the appearance of your scars, I think you will get the best cosmetic result by having the scars excised. You will be replacing these pigmented oval scars...
I'm confused. Are you showing us a before or after picture?I would return to your doctor to discuss, or see a second physician for their opinion.
I recommend following up with your cosmetic dermatologist for after care recommendations. I recommend Silagen + Bioshield to promote healing. Any scarring can be improved with lasers and microneedling/prp. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
