What can I do to improve these scarrs from suspicious moles? (photos)

Question

I had some suspicious moles removed from my upper legs on may 2017. They were shaved off the one from my back is doing great, almost the same color as my skin. The two moles from my upper legs are ugly. They're dark pink and the scarr is kind of raising up. What can I do to help it improve its appearance, and make it less noticeable? Why such a difference on the healing from the ones in my back? I think they looked better as moles than scarrs.

Dear maesgo~Thanks for sharing your photos.  Different areas of the body heal differently due to variations in the thickness and type of skin, and also the amount of tension on that particular area.  If the scars are slightly raised, they may benefit from a steroid treatment to help flatten them out.  The pigment can sometimes be treated with a combination of laser or topical bleaching creams.  Please see your physician for an exam and personal recommendations.Best wishes,Dr. Amy Hsu

Thanks for your questions and photos.  I agree that certain areas of the body may heal differently than others.  Given the appearance of your scars, I think you will get the best cosmetic result by having the scars excised.  You will be replacing these pigmented oval scars for a linear scar.  I hope that was helpful.
