I usually recommend, for proper candidates, doing the BBL first. This allows the following:1. Separation of the two operations into individual procedures with lower anesthesia-related risks like DVT/blood clots, cardiovascular problems, etc.2. Maximal fat retrieval from the abdomen, since we are not restricted by concerns about blood supply to the tummy tuck skin when the procedures are separated. This results in a better abdominal and waist shape and the potential for more aggressive skin removal on the abdomen in the second surgery.3. Touchup to the lipo and/or fat grafting areas at the commencement of the tummy tuck part of the mommy makeover surgery as neededWhile these procedures can sometimes be combined in one operation, I feel that most patients are not good candidates for that approach, either due to moderately elevated BMI or the length of the mommy makeover component (for instance, lifts with implants plus tummy tuck are longer surgeries than without implants or without a lift). Additionally, it's hard to offload the surgical sites on both the front and back of the body after a single surgery. Hope this helps!
