Is it better to get a mommy makeover or two separate surgeries for better recoveries?

Is it better to get a mommy makeover and get boobs and tt done at the same time or in two different surgeries once totally healed from the first surgery? I’ve heard the recoveries can be brutal for tummy tucks and with small children at home I don’t want to be in even worse condition with recovery. And how long after each surgery can you pick up your kids again?

Thanks for your question - this comes up all the time in the office.  First, it is important to choose a board-certified plastic surgeon who values patient safety and is available to guide you through the surgical planning process.  Certainly tummy tuck and breast surgery are frequently combined and can be done safely in many patients.  Without seeing photos or knowing your medical history it is difficult to render an opinion on what would be best for you as an individual.  It is equally important to allow adequate time for recovery, especially if you have small children at home.  Your surgeon will be the best one to guide you as far as returning to activity and lifting your children after surgery.  Best wishes on a great result.

As long as you are a candidate, having a Mommy Makeover consisting of a tummy tuck and breast work is commonly done and considered safe.  The recovery for the tummy tuck is typically the harder of the two recoveries.  Combining breast work with a tummy tuck does not generally lengthen the recovery.  Lifting restrictions would be in place for both surgeries.  I encourage you to meet with a board certified plastic surgeon near you to find out what is recommended in your situation.

if your health allows it you an go for a mommy makeover, 
which in your case will  consist in tummy tuck, liposuction and breast 
lift with implants.      
  
The combination of a liposuction with the a traditional tummy tuck 
has become a very common procedure. It is safe to combine the two 
procedures mainly to address the hip and flank areas. This is a very 
effective way to extenuate the contour of the waist along with the 
abdominoplasty. 
  
In general you may be a good tummy tuck candidate if: 
You are 
physically healthy and at a stable weight, You have realistic 
expectations, You are a non-smoker, You are bothered by the appearance 
of your abdomen. 
  
The breast implants with lift can be done simultaneously, just 
keeping in mind that all depends on your health and labs test. And i 
think you'll look amazing.
  
Weighting above the established weigh increases the risk of complications during and after your surgery, 
the BMI range is 30 and it is important have a stable weight in order to
 have any surgical process. 
I recommend you maintain your weight in a healthy range and then consider the surgery, you will achieve amazing results.
I also recommend to visit a board certified plastic surgeon for a person evaluation and to talk about your goals.
