What is this large hole on my nipple? (Photo)

Question

See pic, this is what it looks like after Please see pic. I get this recurring about 1-2 yrs apart. A large hard ball of white stuff comes out then more blood and white puss. I'm 29. 2 kids and the first one was breast fed, also I have had a breast augmentation. I'm left with a huge hole after it pops on its own.

Thanks for your inquiry and pictures. It appears like you may have a cyst or milk duct that is getting infected.  Since you have had a breast augmentation, I do think it is important to discuss this with your primary care doctor.  He/she may suggest you see a surgeon.  Good Luck.

Thank you for your question and photos.  I recommend that you be seen in person by your operating surgeon to be looked at to determine if you have an infection.  If so, you should be treated accordingly.  This is not normal several months after surgery.All the best,Dr. ResultsMiami, FL

I appreciate your question.It may be a sebaceous cyst. It appears that you have had an infected Montgomery gland.  There is no relationship between infections of these specialized sebaceous glands and breast augmentation.  The resulting hole from the infection may improve with time.
