Is this possible callus formation after hump removal 5 weeks post op? (Photos)

Question

Hi I got a closed rhino last month where a dorsal hump was removed and there was work done over my nose Bridge to tip. I understand than I am in early stages of healing and that swelling comes and goes everyday. I am NOT worried about the site where the dorsal hump used to be but the sides of the nose, around the area one would place glasses on, that have developed hard bumps in both sides in the last three weeks. The bumps are hard, feel boney. I'll see my doc in five days.

The nasal bone may still be prominent in these lateral areas after your rhinoplasty.  An osteotomy infracture the nasal bones would correct this.

Based on your pictures, it looks most probably like your nasal bones spread after surgery and not callus.  Any cutting or fracture of your nasal bones in surgery will first form a scar along the fracture/osteotomy line, not make the whole bone be prominent.  It could be soft tissue swelling over the bones from the dissection in surgery, but that usually doesn't present like this or at this time after surgery.  You'll see what your surgeon says......

Yes it is possible that callus formation can occur.  Your dr can examine you and tell you best.  You are in the very early phases of healing and such I would not worry excessively.Patience in the healing period is difficult.  I would definitely chat about with your surgeon in 5d
