There is no one perfect weight for someone undergoing a BBL. I would say that I am not a fan of patients gaining weight before surgery, because they often want to lose it right afterwards, and the fat cells will shrink that were placed in the buttocks too.
Hello, and thank you for your question. There is not a "best weight" needed to get great results with a BBL.The most important factor in being a good canidate for a brazilian butt lift, is having enough fat to harvest to sufficently augment the buttocks.Patients who may not seem to have much fat can still sometimes get great results with a bbl. I work to find fat if needed. The inner thighs, back, and flanks tend to hide more tissue than we think. The body is shaped and molded into the most ideal shape possible and the harvested fat is grafted to the buttocks. Even by reducing the waist and adding medial amount of fat to the buttocks can greatly "exaggerate" the curves of the body and rendered pleasing results. The procedure takes about three hours to complete and many patients return to work in a week. It is important to wear your post-surgical compression garment for six weeks after a bbl. Please see a board certified plastic surgeon when moving forward. All the best,Dr. ObengBeverly Hills, CA
