This is a good question and in my experience I haven't seen any issues with working out after a BBL. At 4-6 weeks postop most of our patients start to work back into their normal workout routine and the results of heir procedure tend to be pretty durable over time as long as patients maintain a healthy diet and exercise routine.
During the first several weeks after a BBL patients should avoid excessive movement or pressure on the treated area.My personal recommendation is waiting at least three weeks before picking up even moderate exercise. At a month after the procedure I allow my patients to engage in any activity they like. The grafted fat has to be immobilized during the phase where the grafted particles a revascularized. In other words small blood vessels slowly grow into each grafted particle of fat in order for that fat to survive.talk to your plastic surgeon to see what his or her recommendations are.Best,Mats Hagstrom M.D.
Squating after BBL will not make your buttocks lose more fat; First of all, you can't lose the fat cells if your caloric intake versus output makes you lose weight; what happens is that your fat cells become smaller or in contrast larger; so if you gain weight, your buttocks will get larger; if you lose weight your buttocks will get smaller; if you squat, you gluteal muscles will get larger thus making your buttocks firmer.
Dear Ms. MomReady4myoldbody,Thank you for your information and questions. Once the fat is incorporated into your tissue exercise will not make it absorb.Depending on SPECFIC exercise will make your muscles stronger and usually appear larger.I recommend that you make several consultative appointments with Plastic Surgeons who are experienced and Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. In addition ideally they are members of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (denoting by membership as having met additional criteria and a focus on Cosmetic Plastic Surgery).I wish you my best and success,R.
