Can I have silicone implants placed under the muscle through the armpit removed with local anesthesia?

In very limited circumstances should implants be removed under local anesthesia.  If it is recommended to have your capsules removed as well general anesthesia will be needed.  If you have a relationship with the surgeon who performed your augmentation you may want to consult with him/her.

Removing silicone implants under local anesthesia is appropriate only in the simplest case of pure removal.  I always have an anesthesiologist available.  If your PS thinks that a capsulectomy is needed to remove your four year old implants, you will need general anesthesia.
