When can I wear a normal bra after implant removal?

Question

How long after Breast implant removal can I wear a normal bra? And will I ever be able to wear a wire bra with my scars right on crease?My original BA incisions were via arm pit so never had to deal with crease incisions.

The best advice will come from the PS who removes your implants as post-operative protocol varies from PS to  PS.  My patients like the support and compression of a snug fitting sports bra for four to six weeks after breast implant removal.  After three to six months, some patients prefer to switch to underwire.

Thank you for your question. I recommend a compression bra in the immediate postop period. Patients are able to transition to an underwire bra once their incisions have healed. Ask your surgeon for his specific protocol. Best of luck.

Many patients can wear a normal bra about 4-6 weeks after surgery, but as opinions vary it is best to check with your surgeon to find out what is best for you.  Many patients can return to wearing an underwire bra once surgical scars are healed.

I would say that in case of implant removal the approach will be different from case to case depending on how much breast tissue and skin you are left with. Normally I would say sport bra for six weeks.. if was a large implant maybe 3 monthhs.. Ask to your surge what are his preferences.
