Injector didn't show me the package of Juvederm filler before injection. Should I be concerned?

I just had Juvederm Voluma injected in my temple this morning. Before the injection my injector didn't show me the package of the fillers and I forgot to ask. After injection she disposed the syringe. I was never shown the package of the fillers I got. Should I be concerned?

If you went to a reputable doctor there is little reason to think that they would have used a black market or illegal filler in you.  Most of us just throw away the packaging as we get the syringe and needle ready.  There is a sticker for each tube that should have been placed into your chart, so you can always ask to see that if you are truly concerned.

If you got your injections done by a reputable clinic i don't think that you have anything to worry about. It is very common to discard the box and syringe after injections . Each treatment is documented so if you have any concerns you can follow up with your injector .

If you went to a reputable doctor you should not be too concerned that you got something different.If you are really concerned you can see your chart or a copy of the note. Each syringe has a labeled sticker.

As long as you saw a respectable injector, I wouldn't worry about receiving fraudulent product. If you are really concerned, you can ask to see your records. There should be sticker that corresponds with the tube used.

I think many practice prep the tray outside of the room for more efficiency.  I wouldn't be too concerned, but you can ask to see the sticker in the chart if you are still concerned.

Thank you for your concern. While you should absolutely select an experienced injector you can trust before letting them treat you, each filler syringe comes with stickers that can be affixed to your chart. Call your injector's office and ask if your treatment record contains the appropriate sticker, as that may ease your mind. Best of luck!

The vast majority of Specialist are honest enough to tell you what they are injecting. Additionally we have the legal responsibility of writing notes, including the product we injected, so you should not be concerned.
