Dented scar on the tip of the nose from a burn more than 35 years ago. What's the best treatment? (Photo)

Thanks for this question.I think that a temporary filler like Juvederm would help you significantly. Sometimes those scars are quick adherent ( stuck) and the correction is incomplete. This could be done over two or three sessions to improve the final outcome.I would absolutely not recommend a permanent filler, especially in that location.

nasal tip scarring can be made better with laser resurfacing. I do  a fair number of scar revisions. depending upon what laser is used for your care, the downtime can vary and so will the time spent in the sun after the procedure. moots my patients do not have to take more than 1 day off from being in the sun. but thats because of the type of CO2 laser I use. consult with your local doctors please. 

In the hands of an experienced laser surgeon, this can be nicely sculpted for a permanent result with the fractionated CO2 laser.. However, if the surgeon does not have the experience of dealing with depressed scars, you could end up with a flat nasal tip. You might want to consider seeing Tina Alster in DC. She has a lot of laser experience.                jlr

I agree that the scar/indentation  might be responsive to hyaluronic acid filler depending on its elasticity.  I wouldn't advise the use of permanent fillers. You can also consider treating the area on a daily basis  with a 0.5mm dermaroller 

In my opinion, treating an indented scar like yours on the nose depends on how distenible (or stretchable) it is.  If it stretches flat when you use your finders to spread the surrounding skin, it can probably be filled fairly easily.  I would recommend starting with a traditional temporary filler like Juvederm before going to Artefill.  However, if it does not stretch easily, fractional resurfacing is the way to go.  Microneedling (Dermapen) is one version of the that.  Fractional laser resurfacing (i.e. Fraxel, Deep FX) is a more assertive option.
