Answer: How long do I have to be out of work after my hair transplant? After 7 days, all scabs are removed. Slight redness may still exist in recipient area for a few days to a couple weeks. If you have done the strip method, at this point after the scabs are gone, you look like you did before the procedure. If you did the ARTAS System FUE Robot, you would be at the same place as the strip, with the exception you are still growing hair back in the donor area. With the FUE procedure the donor area has to be shaved. In most cases hair in the donor area will completely grow back within 4 weeks.

Answer: How long for scabs to fall off and not be visible You are physically able to return to work the next day, however the scabs will show for 7-10 days. Usually we have our patients come in for a follow up visit in 7-10 days to clean all the remaining scabs. Once all the scabs are gone, hair transplant is not detectable.
