What can I do to change the appearance of my smile after a lip lift? (photos)

Question

I always had a prominent outer corner of my lip which is still there. However after a botched lip lift with a scar and now when i smile i have a joker smile. Is there anything what can be done about this?

I just gave a talk about this at the AAFPRS in San Diego to plastic surgeons warning about doing an isolated upper lip lift when in certain patients who need their corners and possible lower lip addressed as well. When the corners are pointing downwards or are lacking pink vermillion around them (as in your case) doing an upper lip lift alone can exaggerate this problems. Specifically, in your case, you have an Apostrophy Lip morphology because your pink upper lip vermillion disappears by rolling inwards before it reaches the corners of your mouth which you are referring to as your » Joker Smile ». Only a medialized external corner lip lift will solve this problem for you.

It is very hard to decide about your result without in person evaluation and preoprative photos to compare.  A scar, when mature (at least 1 year after surgery), can be corrected with dermabrasion, lip corners possibly with a small amount of filler? Hope this helps.
