Had 6ml juvederm injections on first visit, little results. Will a remaining .4 even make a difference? (Photos)

Question

I had juvederm put in my lips several days ago. We only used .6 ml this round and I will go back at the two week mark for the rest (.4 ml). I already had decently full lips I was just trying to fill in the lines and plump them up. My swelling has all gone down and I can't really see a difference and am worried the .4 mls left won't make any difference. Does the second round tend to have better results now that there is already juvederm in my lips?

Patients such as yourself who have naturally full lips are more likely to only see subtle differences with a small amount of filler.  The difference is definitely there because the filler has just been placed, but it just may be different to appreciate the change.  I would recommend moving forward with the rest of the syringe because it will build on what has already been done.  For someone such as yourself, a repeat treatment in 6-8 months may be valuable. This all depends on your goals and the look you are going for. You already had beautiful shape to your lips before you started, but you can tell that you lost volume over time. If your goal is for fuller lips still then you should add the remaining 0.4cc and may even need more than that spread out over time to give you the results that you want. Make sure you communicate your goals clearly with your injector. Best wishes.

If you want more volume you can use more of the filler. Its best to use small amounts over time to limit swelling and get a better outcome.  Dr. Emer.
