Bellafill or subcision for acne scars?

Bellafill® has finally been approved by the FDA for treatment of acne scars.  Many of us have used some form of this permanent filler for years and in my case since the early 90's.  Previous to that, collagen such as Zyderm I or II was my filler choice, but subcision was also necessary, but the memory of the tethering scars pulled down again, but not as much as pre-treatment.  Many serial treatments were needed.  However, with continued diligence I was able to get an adherent aggressive skin cancer treatment, back to pre-excision levels without surgery, lasers (which really don't address or correct the underlying problems of lack of volume and skin quality). Your eMatrix and chemical peels also don't address the problem. Bellafill is an excellent choice for your acne scars. Very often, when injecting Bellafill, a
little subsicion is done to release any bound down scar or tethered scar that
is preventing the Bellafill from leveling the scar with the surrounding
skin. I have had patients who have tried
everything to get rid of their scars and they are over joyed when they see
their results from Bellafill.
