Weight loss after Bellafill?

Weight loss should not affect how Bellafill looks in your face. It is possible that if you lose a lot of weight in your face you would want more filler to restore the lost volume, however. Go ahead and lose your 20 pounds, then if you feel like you want more filler visit a board-certified dermatologist for a consultation and treatment plan. Good luck!

Fillers do not get affected by weight loss except for fat injections, which may slightly decrease and HA fillers if you have a significant weight loss.  Best, Dr. Emer.

I find that Bellafill is not affected by weight loss because as mentioned in other comments it stimulates collagen production so it is not dependent on facial fat. Having said that significant weight fluctuations can result in facial volume loss so there is always the possibility of needing more filler with ongoing weight loss. Overall you should feel comfortable with losing the 20 lbs that you plan to lose. 

Bellafil is injected in the deep dermis- high sub-Q, and as such should not be affected by a 20 lb weight loss. If facial fat is lost, however, you might need to replace that volume with Voluma, Restylane Lyft, Radiesse, or Sculptra to avoid looking too gaunt. I do not recommend Bellafil for Volume replacement.

I prefer to use the hyaluronic acid fillers.  If you lose weight, you may need more filler as the face deflates as well.

Bellafill is a filler that stimulates you to produce your own tissue.  Over time it essentially becomes all of your own tissue and there is not really any filler left except a small amout of the plastic beads or PMMA particles which are acting as the biostimulant.  The 5 year studies that included over 1000 patients showed no loss of volume and that includes many patients who lost weight.  In short, go ahead and lose the weight.  You will be glad that you have the Bellafill in place as your face will thin out a little but the Bellafill will be still sorking for you.I hope that helps.Best regards.
