The exact number of visits after breast augmentation will vary by surgeon. A typical recovery in our practice involves follow up on day one, day seven, six weeks, three months, and yearly thereafter. This varies somewhat for patients who are traveling from out of town. Those patients would stay in town for one week after surgery. They would be seen on day one, day seven, and possibly at the six week time mark if they are able to return to the office. Regardless, your surgeon will see you as often as needed to help guide and counsel you during their recovery period.
Every surgeon has his/her own routine. I see patients the day after the procedure if possible, at 3 weeks and 3 months. A one year follow up if possible is also scheduled. Obviously, if there is a concern, I see them right away.
Thanks for your question. Every surgeon has their own preference for follow-up appointments. In my practice we generally see patients one week, six weeks, 3 months, and one year after surgery. However, if a patient has any concerns we will see them much more frequently as needed. Other patients find it difficult to attend follow-up appointments and they will simply call if they are concerned.
Every surgeon is different with how many times they plan to follow up with a patient. Some offices will have other medical professionals in the office see you after surgery first, then see you themselves several months later. I like to see my patients within the first week after surgery, then at 3, 6, and 12 months. After one year I will see patients annually if the feel like returning.
Each surgeon has his or her guidelines for aftercare including the frequency and schedule for postoperative appointments. We generally see patients at follow up on day one, day four, day seven, four to six weeks, three months, six months, and yearly thereafter. Consult with your surgeon regarding his or her preferences as he or she knows the scope of your proposed surgery and the specifics about you.
Thank you for your question. The number of post procedure visits varies from office to office and surgeon to surgeon. Our patients typically are seen within several days after the surgery, then at approximately 3 weeks, then at 6 weeks, then at 3 months, 6 months and 1 year. Follow up after that is on a yearly basis and if patients are being screened by mammogram, they usually are seen after this study is performed. Best wishes.
You will find that the follow up schedule will vary from one practice to another. In our practice, patients are seen a few times within the first few weeks after the procedure and then on a monthly basis for several months; follow-up then becomes on a yearly basis assuming no complications. Of course, this will vary depending on how far away the patient is traveling from. Best wishes.
The true answer in our practice is "as many visits as you need." We usually see patients more frequently in the first two weeks after surgery, but it all depends on how far from our office the patient lives and whether the patient is having any specific concerns. We may see someone 3-4 times in the first month and then back off. We have also had patients who fly in from out of town for our rapid recovery breast augmentation and they stay in town for about 7 days before returning home. Check with your board-certified plastic surgeon as each surgeon has a specific routine. Best wishes.Below is a fully-healed breast augmentation patient.
The schedule for your post op visits will depend on your healing, and the surgeon's recommendation. There is no way to know exactly how many post op visits will be required. Best wishes!

Because the sensation to your breasts has been altered, I tell patients to avoid heating pads. You may not realize the pad is too hot and burn your skin. Please contact your surgeon who can best advise you in your particular situation.
If you feel you must avoid a breast lift procedure- even just on the right side, then a higher projection implant may help fill out and create a lifting effect for your breasts. Many of my patients are satisfied with the amount of lift they achieve with just implants. It is difficult to tell...
Xanax is a medicine that reduces anxiety. If a patient experiences anxiety before or after surgery, I sometimes will prescribe it or something similar. It would be up to your surgeon to determine if it would be appropriate for you.
Thank you for your question. It sounds as though you have various concerns. It would be most beneficial to discuss your complaints with your surgeon. In person assessment allows for physical examination. Best,
